New optical laboratory
Institute for Testing and Certification, a.s. built a new Optical Laboratory.
The reason for this was the need to measure the optical parameters of personal protective equipment for eye and face protection, which includes various types of protective eyewear, including sunglasses and dioptric glasses, as well as protective shields and visors of various types. Another separate group is the testing of hockey visors (plexi). These parameters were previously subcontracted by ITC. Since autumn 2024, ITC has managed to create its own laboratory, where 7 workstations have been gradually established to measure about 10 PPE parameters.
These measured parameters include optical power (spherical effect), astigmatism (cylindricity), prism effect, dispersion, homogeneity of transmission factor, resolution limit, range and quality of field of view, distortion or product wearability test.
Testing and evaluation is carried out according to the current standards in force: EN ISO 16321-1, EN ISO 12312-1, EN ISO 18526 -1,2,3,4, EN ISO 8980 -1, 2, 3, EN ISO 21987 and EN ISO 10256-3.
In March 2025, ITC was accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation (CIA) according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
