New emission chamber in ITC laboratories

 

For many years, ITC laboratories have been testing the quality of products intended for interiors, whether in living spaces or car interiors. One of the main types of tests are emission chamber tests, where samples are exposed to a controlled climate and the substances released from the sample into the test chamber environment are measured. 

 

Until now, the laboratory has been equipped with emission chambers with a maximum volume of 1 m³, but now a Weiss emission chamber with an internal volume of 12 m³ and internal test chamber dimensions of 2.4 m height, 3.0 m width and 2.0 m depth has been commissioned. The dimensions of the entrance door are 90 cm wide and 1.9 m high. 

 

The size of this chamber enables us to carry out emission tests, e.g. formaldehyde leakage according to EN 717-1, and the determination of VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions according to ISO 16000-9 and EN 16516+A1, for much larger samples such as furniture and building products.
